Lumber Purchaser
Position Title: Purchasing & Sales
Position Background: HMI Hardwoods LLC is a fully integrated, North American hardwood lumber manufacturing facility, located in Clinton, MI, with over 40 years of industry experience. HMI is capable of supplying lumber, both random width and our exclusive Redi-Rips™, as well as logs and bi-products of our operation such as saw dust. Our operation starts in the forest where our buyers purchase and harvest our timber. Once the timber has been received we are able to use our own sawmill to saw it into thicknesses necessary to satisfy our customers’ needs. Once this process is complete we dry it all in our kilns, plan the production of said lumber while it’s drying, produce our customers’ parts and package them to their specifications – all within one facility. Although we produce our own green lumber, we also purchase approximately 1,300,000’ of it on a monthly basis from areas in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Ontario mills.
